Volleyball Recap: St. Pius X Takes Down Ranked La Cueva

St. Pius X faced La Cueva in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Sartans blew past the Bears 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Sartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Pius X took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-14.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for La Cueva, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.

St. Pius X and La Cueva will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Sartans will take on rival Belen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Cueva is set to face off against their familiar foe Sandia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
