Football Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Model Secondary School for the Deaf's offense. They were outmatched by the Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles and fell 44-0. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Orioles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Aizen Zuchegno threw for 87 yards on seven of 18 attempts. Davion Jackson was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Ryker Pedersen, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only six carries for Maryland School for the Deaf.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Model Secondary School for the Deaf will head out to square off against Life Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coventry Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
