Baseball Game Preview: Carter Cowboys vs. Lincoln Tigers

For the second straight game, Carter will face off against Lincoln. The Cowboys will venture away from home to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with 12 losses in a row, Carter turned things around against Lincoln on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Tigers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cowboys considering their one-run performance the match before.

Jermiah Castillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Castillo was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Carter got a massive performance out of Sean Armster, who scored two runs and stole six bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Armster is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Pablo Daurte was another key player, scoring a run and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Carter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Carter's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-13. As for Lincoln, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
