Softball Recap: Dongola Comes Up Short

Dongola was the 12-8 winner over Carrier Mills-Stonefort when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Demons lost 10-4 to the Wildcats on Monday. The Demons just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Abigail Lang was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Lang was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kali Short was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bricley Lang, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dongola's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dongola will host Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pope County at 4:30 p.m.
