Sierra entered their tilt with Caruthers on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Chieftains, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
The win didn't come easy: Caruthers scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 27-25.
Nicole Gibson was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 18 assists and 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave her a new career-high.
Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 30-11. As for Caruthers, they dropped their record down to 14-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
