Softball Recap: Buffalo Sets Scoring Season-High Against Moorhead

Buffalo had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-7 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Moorhead Spuds. The Bison's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alyana Feekes was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Hadyn Johnson, who earned two RBI and one run.

Buffalo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Moorhead fell to 3-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging four runs allowed.

On Moorhead's side, Madden Bogenreif was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Salvevold, who went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs.

Coming up, Buffalo will square off against Hopkins at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Moorhead, they will challenge Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Spuds surely won't give up without a fight.
