Basketball Game Preview: Portal Panthers vs. Jenkins County War Eagles

Portal hasn't had much luck against Jenkins County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Portal Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Jenkins County War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Portal is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bryan County.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from London Blackmon, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Millie Kingsberry, who put up five points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Jenkins County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against McIntosh County Academy, falling 47-27.

Portal's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jenkins County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Portal was able to grind out a solid win over Jenkins County when the teams last played back in February, winning 40-32. Will Portal repeat their success, or does Jenkins County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
