Recap: Burges Mustangs vs. Andress Eagles
The Burges Mustangs lost against the Andress Eagles back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Burges took a 28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Andress.
Despite the loss, Burges still got an impressive performance from Kayleb Hannah, who rushed for 309 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Hannah's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andress to victory, but perhaps none more so than Erick Blucher, who picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Urbina, who threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns.
Burges' defeat was their fifth straight at home , which bumped their record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Del Valle and 8-2 Canutillo (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72% over those games). As for Andress, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Burges will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Andress, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Chapin at 7:00 p.m.
