Volleyball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Union Academy Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redhawks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-7, 25-6.

Monroe's offense was headlined by Yariset Mota and Sade' Robinson, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Lexi Walton and her five assists. Katherine Rorie controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Union Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Monroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Mount Pleasant on the 28th. As for Union Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Queen's Grant on the 27th.
