Football Recap: Watertown Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Landon Harper and Garrett Davis

It was a good run, but Watertown unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sequatchie County Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Purple Tigers of the 33-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Watertown had strong showings from Garrett Davis, who rushed for 70 yards and a pair of scores, and Landon Harper, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown.

Watertown's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Sequatchie County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Watertown and Sequatchie County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Purple Tigers see the field they'll take on Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Sequatchie County, their break will end when they face Community at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
