Basketball Recap: Taylor Hager's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cadott over Spencer

Cadott came up into this matchup off a tough 33-point loss two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Spencer Rockets by a score of 57-54 on Friday. The Hornets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Cadott's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Hager, who posted 21 points and six steals. Kasey Moldrem was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Cadott was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Autumn Davis was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten boards for Spencer. Davis' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Nieman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Cadott's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Spencer, they moved to 7-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Cadott will venture away from home to square off against Mondovi at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spencer, they will welcome Gilman at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
