Softball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Centennial's offense. They fell just short of the Normal West Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for Normal West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Centennial will venture away from home to face off against Bloomington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Purple Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.69 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Normal West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richwoods at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.47 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
