West typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Cyprus proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a set and slipped past the Panthers 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Panthers back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Tupou Taumoepeau paced Cyprus' offense, picking up 27 kills. Taumoepeau got some help from Uifo'Ou Laloni and her 23 assists. Laloni was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Cyprus is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-16 record this season. As for West, their loss ended an eight-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.

Cyprus wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Hunter on the 16th. As for West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Hillcrest on the 16th.
