Baseball Game Preview: Sunset Bison vs. Ennis Lions

For the second straight game, Sunset will face off against Ennis. The Bison will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunset's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sunset heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Ennis, falling 10-1.

For Ennis' part, they got a great performance from Blaze Neil as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, Neil posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Keno Castillo was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Cody Marusak also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Ennis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunset only posted an OBP of .208.

Ennis is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4-1 record this season. As for Sunset, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-11-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sunset has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ennis struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
