Baseball Recap: Madison La Follette Comes Up Short

Madison La Follette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Middleton Cardinals. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Madison La Follette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Payne, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Madison La Follette's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Middleton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Middleton will be playing at home against Monona Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Silver Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. Madison La Follette will be paying especially close attention to Middleton's game: after Middleton faces off against Monona Grove, they'll take on Madison La Follette again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
