Football Game Preview: Lee's Summit Tigers vs. Lee's Summit West Titans

The Lee's Summit Tigers will challenge the Lee's Summit West Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lee's Summit comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Lee's Summit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Liberty North, who was ranked eighth at the time (Lee's Summit was ranked 21st). The Tigers were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 35-34 to the Eagles. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Max Trillo, who picked up 119 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 80 yards. Peyton Hatfield was another key player, gaining 216 total yards.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Lee's Summit West and Rockhurst had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Titans received a blow on Friday as they fell 42-28 to the Hawklets. The Titans have struggled against the Hawklets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lee's Summit's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lee's Summit West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Lee's Summit against Lee's Summit West when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 45-10 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
