Football Recap: Magnolia West Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Magnolia West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Klein Bearkats 50-17. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Bearkats are ranked 73rd).

When it comes to explaining why Magnolia West lost, don't look at Parker Robinson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 71 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.

Magnolia West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Colburn and Thomas Hoffart. Colburn is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Klein's side was Matthew Tollenaere, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Magnolia West's record is now 2-4. As for Klein, the win snapped their losing streak at three games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Coincidentally, Magnolia West and Klein will both be playing Klein Oak the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th, while the Bearkats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
