Basketball Recap: New Palestine's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

New Palestine strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took down the Indian Creek Braves 53-36. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.

New Palestine was led to victory by Sadey Hughbanks and Haven Flagle. Hughbanks went 5-for-12 to rack up 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Flagle shot 45% from the field on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Flagle has posted since back in January. Sawyor Murdick was another key player, putting up five points.

Despite the loss, Indian Creek still got an impressive performance from Alexa Sichting, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. The game was Sichting's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Ferris, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

New Palestine's record is now 4-0. As for Indian Creek, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.

New Palestine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-30 defeat against Franklin Central on the 18th. As for Indian Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-42 loss against Center Grove on the 18th.
