Volleyball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mahpiya Luta last Saturday, Douglas came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Sturgis Brown Scoopers on Thursday. Patriots fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Scoopers since Thursday.

While Douglas had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Sturgis Brown, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.

Coincidentally, Douglas and Sturgis Brown will both be playing Spearfish the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Spartans on Saturday, while the Scoopers will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
