Luke Dearman looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September.
Oakridge didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Greenhill to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Caleb Walton and Jack O'Neal, who each logged one passes deflected. Oakridge has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.61 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.61 in their last three games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Worth Country Day). They claimed a resounding 55-15 win over St. Andrew's. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Highlanders are ranked 985th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oakridge better keep an eye on Harrison Homan. He was instrumental in Fort Worth Country Day's win, rushing for 121 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Oliver Kelly also helped out with an impressive 109 receiving yards.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Fort Worth Country Day, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of William Bloemendal, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Fort Worth Country Day didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as William Stadler, Rhodes Linker, and Bloemendal picked up one apiece. Bloemendal has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.
Oakridge's record now sits at 9-0. As for Fort Worth Country Day, their record is now 7-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Oakridge has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 385.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Fort Worth Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 370.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Oakridge lost to Fort Worth Country Day on the road by a decisive 26-8 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Owls, Connor Davidson (who rushed for 123 yards and one score, and also threw for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
