Basketball Recap: First Assembly Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

First Assembly Christian can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over the Liberty Tech Magnet Crusaders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win First Assembly Christian has posted since March 2nd.

First Assembly Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Banks out in front who went 6 for 7 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Alexander, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 16 points.

Banks wasn't the only one working in the assists department: First Assembly Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

First Assembly Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Liberty Tech Magnet, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lausanne Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Liberty Tech Magnet, they will head out to challenge Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
