Softball Recap: LEE Volunteers vs. Brandeis Broncos
LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Brandeis Broncos, falling 11-3. Volunteers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Broncos since on Friday.
Elizabeth Earl made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Castellano, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
LEE's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Brandeis, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
Looking ahead, LEE will venture away from home to square off against SA Roosevelt at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. LEE is facing SA Roosevelt at the right time seeing as SA Roosevelt is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Brandeis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Churchill at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Brandeis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
