Basketball Game Preview: Sabinal Yellowjackets vs. Brackett Tigers

The Sabinal Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Brackett Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sabinal is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Stacey on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sabinal had to suffer through a 69-41 loss at the hands of Stacey. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Brackett came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Beavers with a 58-54 victory.

Brackett is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Sabinal, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Sabinal beat Brackett 82-73 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Sabinal repeat their success, or does Brackett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
