Volleyball Recap: Texas School for the Deaf Rangers vs. Brazos Christian Eagles
Texas School for the Deaf suffered their biggest defeat since September 16th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Brazos Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Texas School for the Deaf ultimately came up short, they really made Brazos Christian work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-24, 25-15.
Melanie Rubinshteyn paced Texas School for the Deaf's offense, picking up 13 kills. Rubinshteyn got some help from Kaelyn Sluyter-Coffey and her 25 assists. Sluyter-Coffey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Texas School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 19-17-1. As for Brazos Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-11 record this season.
