Basketball Recap: West Feliciana Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Madison Prep Academy, West Feliciana was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 62-57 W over the Istrouma Indians. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Indians are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Travis Lathers, who posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Lindsey, who earned 11 points and five rebounds.

West Feliciana's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Istrouma, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Feliciana will welcome Central Private at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Istrouma, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Plaquemine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
