Basketball Recap: Vann Morrelli Key Part of a Team Effort in Beavers Win

There's no place like home for Keene Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Johnsburg Central Jaguars by a score of 58-46 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Beavers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Keene Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vann Morrelli led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Morrelli also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because Keene Central is 8-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Peter Robjent, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Johnsburg Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam McKinney, who posted 17 points and three steals. Nick Sauer-Jones was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.
