Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Comes Up Short

After flying high against Loyd Star on Friday, Bogue Chitto came back down to earth. Bogue Chitto fell 10-6 to Loyd Star on Friday. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 15-3.

Tucker Kyzar was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Noah Magee was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Kyzar wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Bogue Chitto lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bogue Chitto's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-8. As for Loyd Star, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-8.

Coming up, Bogue Chitto will venture away from home to square off against West Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Lincoln will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Bogue Chitto surely won't give up without a fight. As for Loyd Star, they will welcome Amite County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loyd Star is facing Amite County at the right time seeing as Amite County is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
