Soccer Game Preview: Putnam County vs. Lamar County

Putnam County is 0-7 against Lamar County since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Putnam County War Eagles will be playing at home against the Lamar County Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Putnam County has given up an average of 6.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Putnam County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Jasper County on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Hurricanes.

Meanwhile, Lamar County kept a clean sheet against Utopian Academy for the Arts on Saturday. They blew past Utopian Academy for the Arts 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five games by eight goals or more so far this season.

Lamar County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those six contests. Putnam County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
