Softball Game Preview: South Fayette Lions vs. Montour Spartans

The South Fayette Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Montour Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montour took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Fayette, who comes in off a win.

South Fayette gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Chartiers Valley by a score of 9-5. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Montour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against West Allegheny, falling 12-2.

Danielle Terpack made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

South Fayette's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Montour, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1.

South Fayette beat Montour 6-3 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
