Baseball Recap: Eminence Warriors vs. Oldham County Colonels

Eminence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-2 to the Oldham County Colonels. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Colonels when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tanner Simpson put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Simpson was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hayden Kuhn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Eminence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oldham County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Looking ahead, Eminence will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Western Hills at 6:00 p.m. As for Oldham County, they will head out to square off against Bullitt East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
