Russell had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-45 W against the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Monarchs back in January, they had to take a 49-41 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Russell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Norah Mooney, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists gave Mooney a new career-high. Aubrey Birney was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Russell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Russell pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
