Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Needham

Needham proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Milton Wildcats 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rockets also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Needham was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-12, 16-25, 25-20, 15-5.

Needham was led to victory by Lillian Soulia and Eleanore Alley. Soulia had seven digs and six aces, while Alley had 15 digs and two aces. Those 15 digs gave Alley a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Needham was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milton only served seven aces.

The victory (which was Needham's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. As for Milton, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Needham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Weymouth on the 18th. As for Milton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Wellesley on the 18th.
