Baseball Recap: Earlville Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Earlville brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They had just enough and edged out the Serena Huskers 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Raiders have posted since May 10, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Easton Fruit, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Spoonmore, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Earlville's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Serena, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Earlville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
