After a string of three wins, Newton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Aces apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Newton sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-11.
