Volleyball Recap: Canyon View Takes a Loss

Canyon View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ironwood Eagles. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Canyon View came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 27-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Bo Lambert paced Canyon View's offense, picking up 27 kills. Lambert got some help from Nathaniel Landa and his 26 assists. Landa also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Devon Bills, racking up two apiece.

Canyon View's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Ironwood, their win bumped their record up to 12-14.

Canyon View has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against ALA - Gilbert North on the 23rd. As for Ironwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Centennial on the 24th.
