After losing to Boonville the last time they met, Marshall decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Owls walked away with a 42-35 win over the Pirates on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Despite the loss, Boonville still got an impressive performance from Alex McDonald, who rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. McDonald showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Hough, who threw for 182 yards and one TD.

Marshall has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Boonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will challenge Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Boonville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Pirates their first taste of in-conference action this season.
