The Serena Huskers will face off against the Hall Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Serena has seven straight victories, Hall has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Serena is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Aurora Christian on Friday as they made off with a 20-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Huskers, who have now won 15 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Cassie Walsh was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Serena let RayElle Brennan and Brynley Glade run wild. Brennan got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Glade went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Glade a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Setchell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Serena was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aurora Christian only posted a batting average of .250.
Hall might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to Erie, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Hall saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Burkart, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Aubrey Merkel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Serena pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-21.
Hall's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Serena hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Hall, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Serena's hitters?
Serena came out on top in a nail-biter against Hall when the teams last played back in April of 2022, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Huskers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
