Riverheads is 9-1 against Staunton since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Gladiators are taking a road trip to challenge the Storm at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Riverheads will head out to face Staunton after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The Gladiators fell 36-29 to Alleghany. While the Gladiators had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Cougars 22-15.

Riverheads might have lost, but man, Jackson Fitzgerald was a machine: he rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Preston McCauley was another key rusher, rushing for 98 yards and one TD on only 13 carries.

Meanwhile, Staunton played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Wilson Memorial and fell 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Green Hornets are ranked 88th).

Despite the loss, Staunton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabryel Johnson rushed for 125 yards and a pair of scores.

Staunton's record is now 3-5. As for Riverheads, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-4.

Riverheads strolled past Staunton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 14-0. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
