Softball Recap: Kouts Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kouts extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 7-7 in the process. Everything went their way against the Washington Township Senators as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The Mustangs & Fillies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Lillian Earle, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayla Florence, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kouts kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.

As for Washington Township, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
