Football Recap: Castro Valley Beats Oakland Tech for Their Fourth Straight Win

Castro Valley strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured an 18-12 W against the Oakland Tech Bulldogs.

A big part of Castro Valley's victory came down to the chemistry between Erikka Flores and her top target Jazlyne Reyes-Neil. Flores threw for 104 yards and one TD while Reyes-Neil picked up 91 receiving yards and one score. Reyes-Neil was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards.

Castro Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Arabella Pey led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Ellie Bennett got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Castro Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Oakland Tech, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Castro Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-0 victory against Berkeley on the 4th. As for Oakland Tech, they will challenge California at 6:30 p.m. on the 11th.
