Soccer Game Preview: Mason Classical Academy vs. Neumann

The Mason Classical Academy Paladins will head out on the road to take on the Neumann Celtics at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mason Classical Academy is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Donahue Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Paladins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 196th).

Meanwhile, Neumann has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They and Community School of Naples finished up their game with a 1-1 draw on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Celtics as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Mason Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. With that draw, Neumann's record moves to 0-6-1.

Mason Classical Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Neumann in their previous matchup back in November, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mason Classical Academy since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
