Softball Recap: Vance Charter Comes Up Short

If Vance Charter was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Falls Lake last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Vance Charter lost 9-3 to Falls Lake on Friday. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Katelin Guerrant was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Aubrey Puryear was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Guerrant wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Vance Charter lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

Vance Charter will welcome Wake Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wake Prep Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Vance Charter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Falls Lake, they have already played their next game, a 6-0 defeat against Heritage on the 24th.
