Charlotte Christian put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders 6-4. Six seems to be a good number for the Knights as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Max Carson looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jack McGrath was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hudson Simmons, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Charlotte Christian pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Cardinal Gibbons, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Charlotte Christian has already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Lexington on the 11th. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Wake County HomeSchool on the 11th.
