Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Saints vs. Mountain Pointe Pride

For the second straight game, Notre Dame Prep will face off against Mountain Pointe. The Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Pride at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Notre Dame Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Mountain Pointe. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Pride: they've now won four in a row.

Sam Jenkins looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Layne Henry was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Greyson Bott also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Notre Dame Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mountain Pointe dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Notre Dame Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
