Vancleave entered their tilt with Gautier on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Gators. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hunter Harper made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Bates, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Conner Mitchell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Vancleave's record now sits at 13-4. As for Gautier, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vancleave beat Gautier by a score of 23-2 on Thursday.
