Recap: Cherokee County Warriors vs. Jacksonville Golden Eagles
The Cherokee County Warriors entered their tilt with the Jacksonville Golden Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cherokee County managed a 54-49 victory over Jacksonville on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Cherokee County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jacksonville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mya Swain, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Swain is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Alexis Phillips was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Cherokee County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Jacksonville, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-13.
Cherokee County on the road again on Monday and play against Hokes Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Hokes Bluff will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Jacksonville will take on Munford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Munford comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
