Volleyball Recap: Montgomery's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

After a string of eight wins, Montgomery's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the A&M Consolidated Tigers. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 18-25, 25-16.

Montgomery's loss came despite strong showings from Kenzie White and Delaney Wright. White had 13 digs, while Wright had 26 kills and 13 digs. Wright has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 79 times she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Presley Johnson, who had 18 digs and eight assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 35-10. As for A&M Consolidated, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-9 record this season.

Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for A&M Consolidated, they will face off against Magnolia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
