Basketball Game Preview: Meridian Yellowjackets vs. Bosqueville Bulldogs

Meridian is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Bosqueville is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Meridian Yellowjackets will host the Bosqueville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meridian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Meridian was fully in charge, breezing past Gholson 63-20. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meridian found their leader in sophomore Josh Nunez, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Nunez has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Guillermo Ortiz, who posted four points and eight steals.

Meanwhile, Bosqueville earned a 42-35 win over Iredell on Tuesday.

Bosqueville's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Meridian, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Meridian and Bosqueville were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2016, but Meridian came up empty-handed after a 57-56 defeat. Can Meridian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
