Basketball Recap: Castle Falls Short of Gibson Southern in the Playoffs

Castle and Gibson Southern squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Castle had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Gibson Southern Titans by a score of 39-37. The Knights have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Gibson Southern found their leader in sophomore Paige Schnaus, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Schnaus a new career-high in boards.

Castle's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Gibson Southern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gibson Southern, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-41 victory against Evansville Reitz on the 8th.
