Soccer Game Preview: Warren Central vs. Purvis

The Warren Central Vikings will square off against the Purvis Tornadoes at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Warren Central took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Murrah as they made off with a 6-1 win. Jordan Polk was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Purvis kept a clean sheet against Lawrence County on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 7-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Purvis in their matchups with Lawrence County: they've now won six in a row.

The victory got Purvis back to even at 3-3-2. As for Warren Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Warren Central took their victory against Purvis when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 5-2 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
